NAHB's 2017 Trade Show Brings Light to the Industry
Published January 23rd, 2017

The NAHB International Builders' Show wrapped up this week, after three days of exhibits, vendor demonstrations, and informational classes. The two-day event was held in Orlando January 10-12. The exhibit space totaled 569,000 square feet and featured over 1500 exhibitors and was attended by 80,000 construction professionals.

Among the more popular exhibits were those focused on home automation and energy efficiency. It seems that builders were looking for ways to reduce their own costs while also looking for ways offer these products and services to their customers. Ed Westlove, Florida territory manager for Lennox heating and air conditioning systems said, "There are a lot more ‘meat-and-potatoes people’ here this year.” Demand for these tech items is certainly a trend we are seeing for 2017 and good to keep in mind as you move forward with your business goals this year.

Attendees also found the education sessions helpful. They learned strategies for dealing with everything from the labor shortage to managing finances as well as customer expectations.

If you're interested in attending next year, IBS will be held in Orlando once again, January 9-11.
