Summer may officially be overand along with it, the threat of wild fires. However, as we all know, on aconstruction site, fire safety must always remain a top priority. Fires on aconstruction site can have a significant - and devastating - impact on thecommunity, first responders, and you.
To help you keep fire safety atthe forefront of your construction projects, the American WoodCouncil partnered with FireforceOne, a consulting firm led by retiredCalifornia State Fire Marshal Ronny J. Coleman, to develop a set of best practicemanuals, training videos and a new website: ConstructionFire.com.These materials are designed to educate builders and those inconstruction-related industry including laborers, site superintendents, localbuilding and fire regulators, and responding fire departments, on how toprevent fires, reduce losses and ensure overall safety at large constructionsites.
Some of the topics coveredinclude basic fire preventions during the construction of large buildings, hotwork during construction of large buildings, and the fire department's role inprevention and suppression of such fires.
