  • Tips on How to Study For an "Open Book" Contractors Exam
    Published March 28th 2017 at 12:00am

You've been working hard and you feel like you're ready to get your Contractor License. Here are a few  tips on how to study for an "open book" Contractor's Exam

    1. Take an Exam Prep Course

If you want a greater chance of passing your test, taking an exam prep course is the way to go. The best way to do this is in a state/classroom setting. You won't get the same state specific information you need if you study online. An exam prep course is a great way to know exactly the kinds of things that will be on the test before you take it.

    2. Purchase all Open Books

You want to have as many tools as possible at your disposal so you can succeed. Purchasing the books beforehand will give you the edge you need. Also, make sure you review the testing information in advance so that you know which books you can take into the test with you.

    3. Tab, Highlight and Underline

This is a great way to make sure the information gets ingrained in your memory and saves time and mental energy in the long run. Effective study habits are key to success when it comes to test-taking.

Here at Utah Contractor License Center, we want to give you the tools you need to succeed in your career in the construction industry. If you are interested in what we provide or if you want to know more about preparing for the contractor's exam, please  contact us  today!
