Utah General Contractors Can Renew Their License Year Round
Published August 9th, 2012

General contractors in Utah need to renew their license every two years. Part of this recertification includes mandatory classes to update specific skills. This is to help make sure contractors understand changes in state and federal regulations as well as keep up to date with new techniques.

Many contractors wait until the fall and winter to take the classes they need to renew their Utah General Contractors license. Waiting until the last minute, however, can sometimes mean losing out on some great classes that can help you stay competitive in your field.

It is important to look at common building trends and determine what skills you need to improve to take advantage of those trends. It may be that you need to learn how to use some new tools, learn new marketing techniques, or learn new environmental regulations to adhere to new building standards.

So stay on the lookout for new classes that qualify for recertification and help you improve your business.  While it may be challenging to find the time to take these classes now, the long term benefits to your company will outweigh any temporary inconvenience.

UTCLC offers recertification classes year round. We offer many different learning methods to help you find the time and techniques you need to fit in your busy schedule. Contact us to learn how we can help you earn the credits you need to renew your Utah general contractor’s license.
