Time for Continuing Education is Almost Up
Posted on November 16th, 2011
The end of the year is drawing close and the deadline for continuing education requirements is almost up. As of November 30, 2011, licensed Utah contractors will be required to have completed six hours (three core, three core or professional) of continuing education in order to renew/maintain their license. Failure to do so may incur fines and compromise the integrity of your license, so ensure you make continuing education a priority in the coming weeks. Requirements aside, continuing education represents an excellent opportunity for contractors to increase the range and qualifications of their contracting experience. Besides renewing your license, your continuing education will empower your license with skills that will allow you to take your business into a wider range of professional opportunities. A few of the many continuing education classes available include energy audits, home inspection, and a wide range of construction specializations. In addition, professional courses provide contractors with the communication skills necessary for success in today’s competitive market. Contractors should beware of unacceptable classes. The mandating statute is very specific regarding what course material is pertinent toward core and professional classes; while classes such as safety, construction laws, and marketing techniques apply toward continuing education requirements, personal empowerment, stress management, and other non-construction related classes generally do not. Utclc offers only accessible and (most importantly) acceptable, approved courses for continuing education. Registering for required classes is relatively simple. At utclc we offer a variety of class schedules arranged in order to fit the wide range of contractors we assist. Our competitive class prices can’t be beat, and our combination classes ensure contractors receive the most convenient and relevant class experience possible.
